At my kids' elementary school, I was sloberly bitten by a very clean, stray cat. The bite wasn't bad, but broke the skin. I got a tetanus shot and antibiotics. No worries about rabies according to the doctor. The internet said I should feel otherwise. I called Animal Control because I knew I was going to die of rabies. I became a victim an 8 lb. cat. I saw the cat again. I called Animal Control at 2:05 p.m -- 25 minutes before school got out. As I'm waiting for my children to get out of class, Animal Control comes charging through with the principal running after him. I told the officer that the cat was in the garden...Ding...the bell rings. 120 kids come out as the officer enters the garden. All I heard was the kids saying "Garfield." He charged forward, grabbed the cat, drops it, has to run after it, grabs it again and shoves it into the carrier. I was near tears. All the kids, the principal and 4 of the five teachers all had their eyes on me. What could I do but duck and hide? I apologized to my oldest. He was in shock. The fate of Garfield is in the hands of the owner who I pray will realize their cat isn't coming home and go to the shelter.
Cat Killer...well, hopefully not!!
