I took my three year old daughter to see Santa. Pretty exciting moment. On our way out of the mall though, she was walking along with me, caught sight of a Victoria's Secrets store out of the corner or her eye, and came to a dead stop. Suddenly Santa was forgotten. She turned around, looked a pair of very high [filtered]e heels and an assortment of Victoria's Secret lingerie. She stopped dead in her tracks, her mouth dropped open, her eyes began to sparkle, and she pointed. "Oh mommy, so pretty!!!" This is a child that for the first four years of her life didn't really enjoy wearing clothing. When she did put on clothes, her favorites included feather boas, a pink or blue sparkly wig, and something in velvet or silk, accompanied by princess high heels.
I snuck into the store as my husband kept her busy, and bought her an extra small, purple velvet negligee top to give her for Christmas. She was delighted, and it soon became one of her favorite Christmas presents (along with the new, hot pink wig). I'm happy to report that at nine, she is wearing clothes, is a tomboy, and has gotten over her "Las Vegas Showgirl" phase.
